1. About Kutumbam
Kutumbam is a private, invite-only community platform for Indian families globally, operated by Bharani Inc, a California limited liability company. It is not a public social network.
2. Who may use Kutumbam
Family head accounts require the account holder to be 18 or older. Up to two equal family heads may administer a family. Household members of any age may be listed by a family head. Teen members do not have independent login in Phase 1. Family heads are responsible for the accuracy of household information under their account.
3. Invite-only access
Families join via Platform Admin bootstrap (founding cohort) or a personal referral from an existing family. Referral links are personal and non-transferable. Publishing referral links publicly or in mass channels violates these Terms and may lead to suspension.
4. Family declaration
Every founding family submits a declaration at onboarding. On kutumbam.co the word-count gate is soft (suggestion copy). Bharani Inc may decline or revoke access at its discretion.
5. Prohibited conduct
You may not use Kutumbam for discrimination (including caste, religion, region, language, gender, age, skin tone, disability, or sexual orientation), harassment or threats, scams, illegal content, fake or duplicate accounts, or circumventing security or moderation. One confirmed discrimination violation may result in immediate suspension. See Community Standards.
6. Content & moderation
Circle posts and similar UGC must follow Community Standards. On the kutumbam.co pilot, posts may publish immediately under a stub moderation provider; members can flag content for Platform Admin review (target 48-hour SLA). Direct messages are not proactively scanned but may be reviewed if flagged when that capability ships.
7. Account obligations
Keep contact email accurate, maintain truthful household information, and share invites only with families you personally know and trust.
8. Fees
The founding pilot on kutumbam.co does not require payment. Future Member tiers and Stripe billing, if offered, will be disclosed before charge.
9. Intellectual property
Platform design and technology belong to Bharani Inc. You retain ownership of content you post and grant Bharani Inc a limited licence to display it inside the platform. Kutumbam does not claim ownership of your family data or declaration.
10. Limitation of liability
Kutumbam is provided as-is. Bharani Inc is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use, or for user-posted content, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, except where prohibited by applicable law.
